ROC observation

seems like rochester is the kind of place where strangers will just comment to you in passing on something that is obviously happening. almost like you're already mid-conversation. i've had encounters like these recently, that just sort of came out of nowhere and then ended without fanfare. one was about menopause (encountering one another in our local forest, we started by talking about exercise) and one was about pottery barn (at pottery barn). there have been a couple of others, too, but these are most recent and stand out. it's like, no one's out to assert themselves either charmingly or otherwise, we're just all midstream in this giant conversation and occasionally it's actually with each other. which i like, because as chad and debbie can attest, i have to always talk, therefore all the better when i have at least a temporary audience so i'm not reduced to muttering to myself or whispering little chants. it's a thin line, people; a very thin line.
