relating to my elders

in keeping with my already established tradition of having the athletic ability of a very fit 65 year old, i got this bike. and holy crapola, do i love it. it's got gears for the hills. and it feels like i'm sitting in a chair. and the seat is really cushioned. i just rode it a total of 5 miles this morning and it was just too glorious.

Yeah, except that it looks like it was made for women in hoop skirts. it just looks too...i don't know, 'practical' i guess is the word. I thought bikes were all about looking badass, comfort be damned? you need to be hunched over and gritting your teeth in agony and gripping the bars tight because otherwise you're going face first into pavement and running over yourself. you're investing too much in "fun" and "a pleasurable and healthy experience" and "avoiding the onset of chronic back problems" not enough in how you may look in front of total strangers who couldn't possibly care less.
I'm just sayin'.
