i just finished formatting the dissertation, margins, subheadings, page numbers, footnotes, citations, etc. also edited the bibliography, which needed a lot of work. those kinds of tasks are the opposite of elizabeth. i usually just sort of ride the wave of entropy that is all around me, and shoring up that entropy with tables and spacings and page numbers and fonts and decisions about bold/italics/all caps/centered/left-justified, etc. feels kind of like wearing my watch on the wrong hand, or parting my hair on the opposite side. very uncomfortable and confusing, regardless of the fact that i am cognizant of the situation and determined to stick with it.
my eyes and hands are killing me. and now to go for a long hot slow sweaty run. which is A LOT less sexy than it sounds, believe me.
