something that makes me love charles darwin
he reluctantly gave up his belief in a god, citing an insect that lays its eggs in a living caterpillar, so that the larvae then consume the caterpillar from the inside out, as evidence that a benevolent god does not exist, going on to say that he cannot believe in a malevolent god. tiny and huge.

wasn't his point that while he was, yes, losing faith at the time-that the larvae eating the caterpillar situation... is a non-argument in the g-d debate... given that our intellectual malevolent/benevolent context cannot be applied to a scenario that requires simple organism larvae to eat-host-or-die and said host may or may not (not) be capable of pain or suffering in the situation... (?)
i totally love that interpretation, cuz. that nature is extra-moral? (and therefore humans are?)
darwin influence nietzsche, and this might be a way.
