to getting into a conference that is notioriously difficult to get into

JEERS:

to having 20 papers to grade

to meeting after meeting after meeting

to dumb stupid allergies

to dumb stupid PMS

to the tendency of young women students undercutting their comments before they even say them ("this is probably wrong but. . .")

to having nothing to say to students after half an hour of class
