academic scavenger hunt
next time you are at a conference, or really any time when you're looking to kill a little time (or procrastinate, but i know nobody does that, wink), here's a fun game for you and your friends: an academic scavenger hunt. loser buys dinner. here's some ideas for it to get you started:
find/do and prove you found/did:
a man professor or graduate student who lives alone with one or more cats (no dog) (10 points)
an economist with a degree from the New School with an R1 job (10 points)
an article/presentation/panel entitled "What's _______ Got to do With it?:. . . . ." FROM THIS CENTURY. (blanks and ellipses can be anything. must use colon.) (40 points)
an article/presentation/panel entitled "Body Politic/ Political Bodies." essays in edited volumes do count. (20 points)
any chiasmusly (chiasmatically?) titled article/presentation/panel (10 points)
an academic in the humanities eating at a subway (10 points) or a mcdonald's (20 points)
a professor (10 points) or graduate student (30 points) with feathered hair
