- me personally getting nice and fat so that, if necessary, i can live off the stored energy of my own flesh
- using teabags more than once
- scraping my plate clean, and even licking it clean
- lots of new old-timey folky-type music that can be played on common household objects
- attention to poverty rather than the environment (not that the environment's not worth thinking about, but all these "green" products and practices while still 27,000 children per day die of preventable diseases seems ridiculous)
- a renewed sense of consequences
- materialism! in the philosophical sense, over idealism. OMG, what i wouldn't give for people to emphasize physical health over ideology.
- distrust of rich people who think they "deserve" what they have
- general diminishment of the idea that people actually do get what they deserve
- general understanding that "deserve" is A LOT different from "consequences"
- building up survival skills
- travelling musicians
- more overalls
- in 60 years, charming movies about this hard, hard time featuring overalls, travelling musicians and old-timey music that can be played on common household objects, plus novel and kind of disgusting survival skills
