[i'm] not going to take it/anymore

i am so fracking fed up with, to put it very generally, how facts and information and knowledge have come to be positioned as part of a "liberal agenda."  i teach about the issues evolution and global warming pretty often; i am no longer indulging the idea that these are "controversies."  they are controversies in the way that the existence of angels or the flatness of the earth or the nature of an isosceles triangle are controversies, which is to say they are NOT, among educated people in a setting dedicated to good faith inquiry. 

i don't know how/why people came to distrust education or educators or scientists or anyone devoted to accumulating and producing and spreading knowledge; not just willful but strongly exerted and celebrated ignorance that "populists" seem to embrace and that maybe they don't realize makes them seem a little maoist-ish.  incuriosity seems immoral to me.  i would say that this value, of not wanting to learn things from people who know more than you do, is exhibit A in the argument for alternate universes.
