eliot spitzer, you are such a boob! and this time, it's personal!

because i'm not under the impression that anyone got hurt or enslaved in any way due to spitzer's indiscretions*, and because i don't really care about people's sex lives, i think spitzer's boobitude lies mostly in being caught.  (of course, i think he kind of secretly wanted to get caught--and spanked for being naughty.)  but, whatever, right?

HOWEVER.  his dumbass antics meant that he was not there to usher through a bill that would provide lots of development funds to my area, western NY state.  and those development funds were partly earmarked to develop parts of the downtown ROC.  and one of those parts was going to be the new headquarters of a local company.  and yours truly and my own personal spouse (MOPS) bought 10 shares of stock in that company because it was under ten dollars and thought we would let it sit for many years, since we knew the development plans are underway.  and i don't know about MOPS?  but i was planning to buy a houseboat with the profits.  and now my houseboat dream might never come true because good old spitzer had to shtup a hooker (as my pal KT puts it--i have no yiddish cred but she does), which put him out of commission for the budget vote, which led to the budget being threatened (not sure yet if they still held it or if it's been held and passed or failed), which could lead to the local company's plans falling through, which could lead to their stock never ever ever going anywhere, which could lead to me not living on a houseboat.  plus eighty dollars down the drain.  for want of a nail a kingdom was lost!

*which, by the way, you would have never known from the initial headlines which said something like "spitzer linked to prostitution ring," which made it sound like he was buying and selling ukranian adolescents or something.
