you've heard of a banana hammock; in the bitter cold, it's time for the banana hammer!

EDIT:  the "banana" in the cold weather scenario is an actual banana.  although the "banana" in "banana hammock" refers to a penis, a penis has nothing to do with the "banana hammer."  the banana hammer is an actual banana frozen so hard, it can be used as a hammer.  the picture is of two human hands in gloves using a banana to hammer a nail in 21 degrees below zero weather.  the picture is from a CNN clip entitled "Banana Hammers Nail in 21 Degrees Below Zero."  it is my hope that even though the "banana" in "banana hammer" does not refer to a penis, but only to an actual banana, the phrase is still funny, since bananas, generally, are funny, whether used as a metaphor/euphemism or not.
