10. what was the best thing you bought?
therapy
11. whose behavior merited celebration?
m.o.p.s. and other friends, as always; also, two people who may not realize it, but who i have adopted as mentors, because they are smart and great and seem to think i have something to say

someone who used to be a very close friend but who ate of the apple of buying his own press

saying "no" and "i can't" and "i won't"
21. tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008.
(courtesy in part of felix guattari) we are all staring out into the same abyss, and there are as many different ways of dealing with it as there are people, and you have to figure out whether someone else's abyss-negotiation will interfere with yours productively or not: if so, pursue; if not, avoid. it is actually that easy!! (and that difficult)
