francis: levon? do you think we live in a "state of nature"?

levon: yep.

francis: levon? what was your favorite part of the parade we threw when maebe left?

levon: i liked walking in the living room.

francis: me, too. levon? do you think that when i pretend to be the dresser-and-table inspector, elizabeth believes me?

levon: no.

francis: shoot! i should get a new jacket. ok and levon? why do you think lola is so much nicer than maebe?

levon: probably because lola doesn't feel like she has anything to prove. when people are confident, they don't have to try to smack people down all the time. maebe is, like, totally insecure. that's why she's always posturing. but lola's totally comfortable with herself.

francis: that explains a lot! and helps with my dresser-and-table inspector costume.

levon: yep.
