i think i'm gonna like it here!*

here in the south, people are really nice and friendly--restaurant servers, store clerks, fellow shoppers and diners.  and as it happens, i usually assume people are going to automatically really like and be charmed by me and my hilarious and insightful patter.**  i am a natural match for the south.  and so, upon, having had now a number of really gratifying encounters with complete strangers***, i am ready to move in!  so, sign me up for that partner hire, employer of m.o.p.s.!

___

*this is a song from the musical "annie," from which i get many of my structuring thought paradigms, handy phrases, and large portions of my worldview.

**i come by this trait honestly, through my very genes, and it should not necessarily be taken as evidence of a large ego, except insofar as a large ego is also a fragile ego.  moreover, i am dismayed and also a little repulsed by people who don't automatically like me, because i am so objectively likeable, which i am under the impression i do not think because i am me, but rather because it is true.  jeez, have you even seen "annie"?!

***i am sure they would agree!
