huh.

for some reason, whenever i catch a glimpse of some quasi-reality show like "american gladiators" or some other show where people seem to be in some kind of exploitable physical pain, OR when i see a news story in which, say, someone has unexpectedly stabbed, beheaded and cannibalized someone else, i always expect to see people i went to grade school with, either as a gladiator or as a victim or cannibal.  i wonder what's up with that.
