feeling behind on the blogging, and didn't know what to write, but then thought that we should all be so lucky as tim russert, to die doing something that we love and that we're good at.
i was an assistant professor of English in the ROC. now i am a visiting assistant professor of English in the thinly veiled town of Whitesville, home of a big southern research university.
there are many travails to report in the life of such a person as myself, but you shan't find them here. if you are a student or a colleague, welcome! and never fear; your secrets are safe with me.
i enjoy staring, cooking, complaining, yoga, and the occasional bon mot.

justin: ok, no. oh and also? the starter died, or rather became infected--in a bad way--and now we have to start over.
perhaps in an effort to put a little fire into your starter efforts: our friend laura has a starter that's been alive in her family for 40 years!
