justice served piping hot with extra sauce on the side
i think that when the founding fathers were designing this here country, and when whoever the guys were that made the new york state laws and court system were scribing their wisdom, and when henry ford was inventing the assembly line, i'm sure they were thinking about how it would turn out for me, elizabeth, in 2007, in traffic court, with my accusing officer out sick and me having to pay only a little 35-dollar fee for having run a red light, but only after watching an hour's worth of Democracy in Action, in the form of schlub after schmoe after sob story after polite acquiescence parade in front of a judge who, to my delight, constantly reminded them/us that people are "innocent until proven guilty," and that it is illegal for police or judges to discriminate on the basis of "race, creed, gender, sexuality, marital status," etc., etc., only to give everyone--and i mean even the bitch in the high heels who brought her lawyer, for crying out loud, as well as the the black teenager with unravelling braids who slouched up to the bench--the lightest possible tiny little non-permanent slap on the wrist.
