i have evidence of at least two psychological issues

1.  i cannot finish any desserts.  if i have candy, brownies, cookies, cake, whatever, i cannot eat the last one or slice.  there's always a tiny little bit that ends up drying up or going bad.  i can finish everything else:  bags of chips, loaves of bread, milk, crackers, all manner of snacks and cheeses.  this is not about calorie conservation and it's certainly not conscious.  but for some reason there is always one lonely dry brownie or whatever left that will not be eaten.

2. i put my new clothes and clothes that actually fit and that i wear behind my old, ill-fitting, never-worn clothes.  all the clothes in my closet that you can actually see are clothes that i never wear and that i've had (and not worn) for 3-7 years.  the clothes i actually wear are in little dark wads on the floor of the closet or underneath all the out-of-date jeans and sweaters that i don't wear.

1. because you're unconsciously awaiting a "post-dessert"! Gotta save room in case there's an after-cake pie.

2. because your old clothes protect your new clothes from dust and color-sapping light! If an old sweater can protect your skin, why can't it protect your new clothes as well.

it all makes perfect sense to me!
