my favorite things
. . .are not raindrops on roses and the rest but: 1.) when, in movies, something really awful and painful happens to a man who has raped or beaten a woman and 2.) when something in my life works out that other people were sure would not. petty? maybe. but i'll take the deep satisfaction over high mindedness any day.
