1. if there's a conversational authenticity contest on, like about who likes some pop cultural thing more (band, book, tv show) or about who has more or more real experience with some geographic, ethnic, or socioeconomic group, no one will ever win. just exactly because there's a contest in the first place.
2. you *can* walk, run, jump skip, etc. in super high heeled shoes--IF they are extremely well-made, and therefore probably very expensive, shoes. it's just architecture, angles, materials and balance, people.
3. students who write reviews on ratemyprofessors.com are either disgruntled because they didn't do well or giddy because they got an A they didn't deserve, or in some form of love. these ratings therefore are characterized by spelling and punctuation errors and exaggerations. on the other hand, professors who write their own reviews, and their friends and spouses who write for them, write mechanically correct, thoughtful and content-rich reviews. neither approach guarantees truth or falsity that can be counted on.
4. it is, in fact, totally weird that there isn't any plane wreckage from the one that crashed into the pentagon on sept. 11, 2001.
