torque

so listen, i can totally get behind nietzsche's idea that things have been labelled "good" or "evil" over the eons for petty, humanistic, mercenary, short-sighted, selfish and solipsistic reasons. people label "good" that which makes them look good, or justifies their existence, or confirms their already-decided views. and of course conversely that which is labelled "evil" is distasteful, or harmful to the labeller or is a show of strength at the cost of someone else. me? i say fair enough to use that as a starting point for accounting for stuff. and fair enough to not begin with judgement-as-essence or however you want to put it.

and so, i would like to immodestly proffer my idea for what perhaps should be the basis of all thought. torque. people, seriously. everything boils down to torque, including things we label "good, " like finding a broken parking meter with and empty space in front of it, or scientific progress, or human kindness; as well as things we label "evil," like widespread mistreatment of animals, or war, or of course back pain. somewhere in there something is being torqued.

look, i'm not saying that if we find the torque we can amp up the goodness or fix the badness. we're not judging, remember? jeez. i am saying, that EVERY SINGLE SITUATION can be understood through a mechanical twisting force. give it a spin, you'll see i'm right!
