whew!

the first statement i heard from the white house about today's shooting at virginia tech was something like, "while the president supports the right of all citizens to keep and bear arms, he also would like to remind us that we still have to follow the law."

is there really a significant portion of the constituency whose first response upon hearing of the shooting was, "great, now i'm not going to be able to hunt this fall. thanks a lot crazy virginia tech gunman, for ruining my recreational activities." who the fuck is bush talking to? what the fuck kind of first response is this?

i'll take this one: it's the kind of first response given by someone who watches his citizens drowning as their houses are slowly disappearing underwater and doesn't send in anyone to save them. it's the kind of response given by someone who cavalierly makes war under false pretenses. it's the kind of response given by someone who answers first to his vacuously moralistic hyper-rich puppet masters and later to his citizens, but only if he has to. what a stupid piece of shit president we have. he can't even play the valiant cowboy when it doesn't cost him a thing.

Not to take away from the horrific circumstances and I want to preface the comment I am about to make with a recognition that this is indeed is a national tragedy.

Why does the president have to make a comment at all? Were his comments aimed at politically capitalizing on the media frenzy during the week that Gonzalez was going to give his testimony or the fact that not a general in the army want some bull shit position of "war czar"? What about the massive protests in Iraq? or the 100+ people killed in one of the deadliest attacks in an occupied country whose insurgents are in their last throws?

Any elected official outside of the state of Virginia that opens their fat media whore mouth is a scoundrel, and that goes for you too Ryan Seacrest.
