fingers crossed

i just submit an application for a big fat internal grant. the time between submission and rejection is always a heady time; i remain giddy with the prospect of having whatever thing accepted or granted. then rejection comes and i don't even have to soldier on anymore, because rejection is kind of like wallpaper. so i just keep walking.

but i've never had more than just my fingers crossed. so, if all you readers cross your fingers for me, that will be three more sets of fingers crossed. then i'm sure to get it!! so get to crossing!
