- so-called christians whose politics show contempt for the poor
- this uber drama queen woman i went to grade school & high school with, who keeps referencing various traumas in her life in such a way that is making me doubt they are true
- strangers' comments on pictures of friends' kids (families' comments excluded)
- the fact that i refuse to friend the popular girl from junior high (even though it is repeatedly "suggested" to me), because what if she ignores it?
- the creepy misspelled misogyny of some of the guys i know from childhood (but haven't seen since)
things on facebook out of which i still get a kick:
- interesting and informative articles posted by facebook friends
- this same uber drama queen's posts, because frankly she did something mean to me in high school and bragged about it for years after, so i am, in a way, doing something that can only be called gloating (i "win," for having a better life in external measurements), but i also am intrigued by her various machinations on FB and by the ways i see her trying to get attention or snag some guy or save face or whatever she's doing on facebook.*
- the actual pictures of friends' kids (though i don't need to make sure everyone knows i think they are cute)
- reconnecting with childhood friends who are actually still likable and funny
- these same creepy misogynistic guys' extreme love for their cats, as evidenced by the (also misspelled) outpouring of emotion when they (the cats) die
*this woman could be her own blog post, but my attempts at rendering it have only seemed mean. but woo! she comes up with some doozies! there have been times on FB where she has been busted in various big- and small-scale lies by her FB friends & family, and it's just so weird to see this version of someone i knew so well from age 6-16. in some ways, it's a compelling portrait of some kind of mental illness. and therefore also pretty depressing, so you see my blogging hands are tied.
