oh gym, gym, gym, gym, gym

you know what? i realized that i totally don't mind that my gym here in my new southern home is really crappy (in comparison to the gym i belonged to up north). just like how you don't need fancy cookware to be a good cook, you also don't need shiny new gym equipment to get a good workout. you know what? people at my current (southern) gym are way nicer and less pretentious than they were at the other gym. and you know what else? they don't seem like they're trying so desperately hard all the time to be noticed, admired and liked, and they seem like they actually enjoy working out. actually, i think i'm exaggerating or projecting on that last point.

don't get me wrong, if a fancy new gym with new equipment and TVs on every machine and lots of fluffy clean towels opened here, i'd join in less than a heartbeat. but sometimes it's nice to be around people who don't act like they think they have something to prove.

yeeay rah, it's always better to be around the more-comfortably-embodied! and you're right, as long as you sweat, that's it. The thing is just to get there, which is my endless problem.
