- i am not remotely a religious person? but i was raised in a religious (christian) tradition? and that tradition impressed upon me that jesus helped poor people? and but what seems to pass for "christian" today has nothing to do with helping poor people? and so i know this is old news but it comes up again in the wake of ted kennedy's death and accompanying commentary. so although i am not religious, i am moralistic, and those so-called christians who think poor people do not "deserve" health, clean water, etc., are driving me totally cuckoo bananas out of my mind. we need new bumper stickers: WWJDHCT? (Who Would Jesus Deny Health Care To?) or, more grammatically correct, TWWJDHC? (To Whom Would Jesus Deny Health Care?)
- speaking of ted kennedy's death, something else you should know about me is that i subscribe to vanity fair, and have as long as i can remember, and will for the forseeable future. and vanity fair looooooovvves the kennedys, to the point that m.0.p.s. jokes, when a new issue arrives, "oh, is that the kennedy issue?" (because there's a kennedy on, say, every third issue, where "kennedy" also includes jackie.) and now, poor dominick dunne has passed on. and dominick dunne writes for vanity fair (and i adore his rambling diaries of celebrity trials). he's a fixture of the mag. so now my main question is, with the death of one of the main kennedys (not to mention eunice's recent passing also!) AND dominick dunne's recent death, what in the world is vanity fair going to do??!!!
- unrelatedly, something else you should know about me is that my right upper arm, above the elbow, is shorter and fatter than my left upper arm above the elbow. well, at least fatter. also, i sweat more under my right arm than under my left. and i hold my shoulders differently-- one is lower than the other. and if those godforsaken "christians" don't sent me to the cuckoo barn, surely my bodily asymmetry will.

coming clean
ok, i don't feel as though we are having an honest relationship unless i tell you some stuff.

oh my god, tell me about it with the health care debate. i also do not understand people who tell me in one breath that Obama is coming to kill the grandmothers with his bare hands, and in the next tell me about a family member who had to declare bankruptcy due to a medical condition. HELLO!!!!
phew that makes me mad.
anyway, nice to hear you ramblings!
just since we're being honest about our relationship? I've never met an honest christian. As far as I can tell, lying to yourself and others is the entrance fee for that crazy show. Obviously, such bad faith isn't reserved for the bible-thumpers.
As for VF, I hope they start doing more on 'body types of smolderingly brilliant bloggers.'
