p.s. to the below

i understand the whole evangelical stance that wants to prevent women from controlling their fertility is that a child is not a punishment, hence they're rallying behind palin and her daughter and think it's SO EXCITING that the daughter is pregnant at 17 and getting married.  however, i bet you one million dollars that many--nay, most!--pregnant teenagers do not come from families that are both supportive and upper-middle class with many resources.  i also bet--another mil!--that with all those resources bristol palin could have gone to a pretty good university and had a lot of careers open to her, and and still yet another mil that she won't.  so the evangelicals' joy about her pregnancy sounds also like joy about one more woman kept out of the public sphere and working world, and kept where she belongs.

that's three million dollars, folks.*  any takers?

*not really

and also seriously: if we had 3 mil to gamble with, we'd've bought Exxon stock a few years ago.
