Stories Edie Likes II

there's the one I feel a little cheesy publishing because, well, I delivered the punch line. we had a going away party for chad in pennsylvania, right before he moved to new orleans. and so it was drunken and quite fun. chad's friend CR was there, and he and several others stayed till like 3 in the morning.

so around 2:30 i thought it would be fun to play the game, Would You Rather Poop On Someone, Or Get Pooped On? everyone took turns answering, and as you can imagine, small debates ensued regarding various answers. (i myself think that there is only one right answer, but that's for a nother day.)

CR, who has never been famous for his fastidiousness or prudishness, caught us all by surprise when he refused to answer. flat out refused. at 2:30 in the morning, super drunk. which of course made it seem as though he thought the game had much higher stakes than anyone else thought it did. like if he answered, we'd force him to enact whatever choice he'd made right then and there. which i think had the opposite effect of what he'd intended.

so we cajoled and pressured him to answer and he simply would not give in. i asked him with all the haughtiness i could muster if he'd ever been to an "adult" party. this is the kind of things that GROWN-UPS talk about, CR. we don't act like little babies and refuse to state our position on fecal-centric sex acts. that's so immature. uninterestingly, he still didn't give in.

several days later, he accused us of "crypto-fecal normativity." i don't think i need to point out that his memorializing the moment with a multi-syllabic phrase doesn't exactly get him off the hook he thought he was avoiding by not playing. sometimes our refusals reveal our obsessions, CR.
