i think this balloon boy business out in colorado was a promotional stunt for the opening of where the wild things are. boy gets yelled at and goes to secret place to hide, then falls asleep? i know it's not a perfect match. but come on. i'm sure he had some pretty good dreams while all the adults were freaking out. childhood fantasies versus adult responsibilities? total freedom versus messing it up and having to return, ahem, to earth? check. i do believe the family's appearance on "wife swap" suggests that they might be willing to participate in such a stunt, and i hardly think spike jonze would be against such sub-viral marketing. you heard it here first!
